The story

Research reaching practice

BRANZ uses Professor Amir’s sick-building-syndrome review in its examination of wellbeing and the built environment.

How the research was used

The workplace section cites the review for symptoms associated with indoor environments, including headaches, lethargy and irritation. This provides part of the evidence connecting internal building conditions with employee wellbeing.

The documented contribution

2025 · Section 4.2.1, printed page 19 · Reference page 35. A contribution to the review’s health evidence, rather than authorship of the BRANZ report or an adopted workplace standard.
