The story

Research reaching practice

A Korean-language ETRI report draws directly on Professor Amir’s intelligent-building review to explain the evolution of the field.

How the research was used

The report reorganises the review’s account of intelligent buildings from the 1980s to 2015: from automation and cost control toward occupant experience, health, environmental performance and connected systems. Its footnote explicitly credits the study as the source for this synthesis, which sets the context for examining AI in smart buildings.

The documented contribution

Printed page 2 · Section 1 · Footnote 2. The review is coauthored. ETRI’s report expresses its researchers’ views; this documents framework reuse, without establishing adopted government policy.
