Research reaching practice
A Minnesota Department of Commerce-funded project gives substantial attention to Professor Amir’s intelligent-building review.
How the research was used
The literature review explains the study’s performance indicators, ten characteristics for judging intelligent-building technologies, occupant needs and evidence limitations. These ideas form part of the project’s evidence base for balancing energy savings, operational costs and commercial adoption. A companion technical overview also cites Professor Amir’s review in its discussion of smart technology and flexible office design.
The documented contribution
September 2021 · Printed pages 2–3 · Reference page 4. Use is documented in the 2021 project literature review. No claim is made that Professor Amir authored the project’s final taxonomy or that Minnesota adopted a policy from the study.
